Compassionate Action: The Teachings of Chatral Rinpoche is the first book dedicated to Kyabje Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche. It was published in 2005 in South Asia by Shechen Publications. In 2007, an expanded version was released by Snow Lion Publications. Compassionate Action received widespread critical acclaim and inspired many people to adopt a more compassionate lifestyle. In the summer of 2007, it was the best-selling book in its category on Amazon for the US, Canada, France and Germany. In 2009, Spanish and Indonesian versions were published. An expanded South Asian edition was also published in 2009 followed by a Russian language edition in 2010.
