Kyabje Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, born in 1913 in Kham, Tibet, is a living Buddha in the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the Vajra Regent of the Longchen Nyingthig, Dudjom Tersar and Sera Khandro lineages and considered to be a mind emanation of Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. He is revered throughout the Himalayan region for his compassionate activities, such as the promotion of vegetarianism and saving the lives of animals.
